Last night’s work was pg. 217-218, CKI #1-3, CYU #1, 3-8
Today (collected at the end of class): pg.217-219, #2, 9-11 (11 is tricky, but do what you can and we’ll fine tune it on Monday).
Test was in class today.
Weekend homework (started after the test was done):
From yesterday…Homework was pg. 242, CYU #4-6, 8, 14-16
From Tuesday…Homework was pg. 241, CKI #1-3, CYU #1-3
Test tomorrow. Questions will involve all volume formula from last week, plus some similar to pg.241, #2 and 3 (don’t forget about the frustum). These calculations can take quite a bit of time, so practice, practice, practice! The more of these you do, the faster you’ll get at recognizing which figure is which, where to put the known values and how to quickly rearrange when solving for other missing dimensions.
You will be given the full class hour for tomorrow’s test, and it will be closed book/closed notes. Hopefully you’ve spent a good amount of time getting familiar with the formula and processes. We’ll be moving on to working with word problems (chapter 5.3) Monday.
